Need Plans After January? Check out these gems

Like us, you’re probably scratching your head at where to go first once January is over. Whether you’ve been taking part in Dry January, saving up your pennies or just hibernating and wishing it was still Christmas, February is inevitably fast approaching.

It’s always important to support our hospitality industry and the independents we’re blessed with in Birmingham, and what better time is there than payday weekend! We’ve always been spoiled for choice in Birmingham so we’ve compiled a list of some of the hottest events and the best places to check out when you get back out there!

The Night Owl

Of course one of our favourite Digbeth hotspots is bustling with events to look forward to. The first week of February is packed with events at The Night Owl from Selextorhood’s Global Rotations club night to Kaleidoscope’s psychedelic night of live music and art stalls to The Night Owl’s own funk night, The Payback. Tickets can be found here.

But, if you feel like a cheeky payday drink and a dance then head down Le Freak: Soul Train on Friday 28th January for a night of disco, soul and funk with their famous dance-off.

Get your tickets here.

If you’re after a bit of live music instead then why not check out Tipitina who are bringing their bluesy, barrelhouse and boogie sounds to the stage on Saturday 29th January.

Tickets on sale now.

MOHO

Everyone’s favourite RnB & hip-hop club night MOHO is back on the 5th February. For their first show of 2022, MOHO will be making their way up Digbeth High Street to the absolutely iconic Rainbow pub! The Rainbow, which only reopened its doors last year, will be home to the MOHO All-Stars DJs on the first Saturday of every month… Tickets on sale now.

Loki Wine

If you’re looking for something a bit more “low-key” (pun fully intended), Loki Wine, set in Edgbaston is offering a delightful Italian wine tasting in the afternoon of the 5th February. You can enjoy a tasting of four wines, 2 white and 2 red at Birmingham’s most awarded wine merchant and craft beer specialist.

You can book here.

Grace + James

In the spirit of wines, Grace + James is a fantastic wine bar, shop and deli that also specialises in local beer, British and European cheeses and charcuteries set on York Road in the lively Kings Heath.

103 Colmore Row

Here at Bread we love new openings and are very excited for the Rooftop Restaurant coming to 103 Colmore Row. While this isn’t coming until Spring of this year, the D&D owned restaurant is looking to be worth the wait. Having been described as ‘jaw-dropping’ by Secret Birmingham it’s looking to be a very exciting spot for drinks and food if you’re after something slightly more high-end.
