Getting creative with AR filters

As lockdown restrictions ease and our city slowly opens up again, we at Bread Birmingham are extremely excited for many of our best businesses and venues to reopen their doors to the public over the coming weeks and months.

We have therefore launched a brand new AR filter over on our Instagram page that helps you decide where the first place you visit in Birmingham will be after lockdown.

With so much choice of remarkable venues to visit, we have created this filter to show our support for our local businesses that have been forced to close due to lockdown restrictions over the course of the past 12 months, whilst also giving you inspiration for your post-lockdown ventures.

The Night Owl

The Night Owl is a Northern Soul and Motown club based in the heart of Birmingham’s cultural quarter, Digbeth. They will be opening their doors once again on 17th April, with themed brunches all the way through April and May ranging from a Ska Brunch right through to Britpop Brunch.

Tickets have flown out like hotcakes for their April events however there are tickets remaining for a handful of brunches and indoor events throughout May and June.

Head over to their TicketSellers page to reserve a table from an abundance of exciting, socially distanced events.

The Old Crown

Birmingham’s oldest pub, The Old Crown, is well known for its magnificent beer garden and historic features, making it one of Digbeth’s best-loved hotspots throughout the week.

Their reopening roadmap recently got underway bringing good vibes into their beer garden as friends and families enjoyed a long overdue beer in the garden.

They have a series of exciting outdoor events lined up at the venue over the coming weeks, including Lockdown Bingo, Peep Show Quiz, Eurovision Quiz and more!

Birmingham Hippodrome

Lights, camera, action! Birmingham’s iconic Hippodrome will be making its long-awaited return to the stage this summer, with plans to be back open for business by the end of June. Despite the uncertainty of when they will be able to reopen, a trip to the Hippodrome will certainly be at the top of our list for a trip out in the heart of Birmingham.

Villa Park & St. Andrews

With homegrown talents Jude Bellingham & Jack Grealish all but cementing their spots in the England squad for this summer, we truly get the feeling that our Birmingham clubs are excelling in producing the next wave of sporting talent, all behind closed doors!

Just 2 miles separates these historic stadiums, and whilst the rivalry still divides households, social groups and workspaces – both sets of fans can agree that the sooner we’re back in stadiums, the better.

The Premier League and EFL are currently trialling the return of fans to return to stadiums safely, however, next season is being earmarked for supporters to finally be able to return to the terraces.
